Performed cognitive testing and interviews for the active clinical trial the center was a part of. Proposed and developed novel PET imaging techniques to incorporate into the longitudinal study. Managed 3-12 coordinators in updating the potential participant database (1252 records). Developed process for implementation of ResearchMatch as a tool for recruitment.

Doctoral Candiate / Graduate Student Research AssistantSanders-Brown Center On Aging Aug 2015 - Aug 2019Lexington, Kentucky, United StatesDuring my graduate education, I studied the protein tau in the context of Alzheimer's disease and traumatic brain injury. I trained in a variety of wet-lab/bench techniques including western blotting, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence staining and imaging, cell culture techniques, DNA transformation and cloning, and in-vitro translation assays. My in vivo animal work included breeding of transgenic mouse lines and maintenance of the colony, small animal surgeries (controlled cortical impact model of TBI, stereotactic injections of dye and AAV into mouse brains, and cranial window implantation), and tissue collection (including brain dissection and heart tissue collection). I presented multiple posters and talks at local, national, and international symposia on my work. I also published multiple peer reviewed articles.
