Project: Alcatel GPON ONT’sProject Description: The GPON system consists of the Optical Network Unit (ONU) that is placed on the side of the subscriber’s residence. It is an embedded system which provides all voice, data and video services to user. • Lead the team to design and develop voice service in Alcatel’s GPON platform. This includes handling interface from ONU configuration module for provisioning, SLIC/SLAC for line events and DSP.• Interoped ONUs VoIP component with GB’s G6 gateway (MEGACO), Alcatel’s soft-switches (MEGACO), Broadsoft server (SIP), Nortel SIP server.

Project: MEGACO Based Media Gateway Toolkit Project Description: Media Gateway (MG) Toolkit hides the syntactic and semantic details of MEGACO protocol processing from the application. It provides a generic interface to all other Media Gateway functions that enables one gateway control protocol to be replaced by another in future.• Design and prototype Bandwidth Manager to provide network operators with a tool for supporting real time connection admission control of flows to traffic engineered core and access networks. The MEGACO protocol here was used to communicate with CAs and other Bandwidth managers (hierarchy) in the network.• Add support for N-way calling, topology descriptor, move command features and Init time dimensioning.• Design and implement sub-system between the MEGACO protocol Stack and the other modules to carry out association level processing and command level processing.• Developed script driven automated test environment for the product which was very helpful in soak and stress testing of the whole toolkit.
