After completing my PhD from the University of Newcastle, I started my career with the London Metal Exchange (LME), the world centre for the trading of industrial metals. Over a period of 20 years working in the Hard and Soft commodity sectors, I have covered numerous roles including Compliance, Warehousing, Physical Trading, across multiple commodity exchanges. Joining BTG Pactual in 2013, I launched their commodities business outside of LATAM, evolving the business into BTG Commodities. Subsequently I created Engelhart Warehousing Group, developing it into a leading LME / CME warehouse business with operations around the globe and storage of over 1.2 million mt of Exchange metal. In 2015 my role expanded to ownership of BTG's Base Metals desk.In 2016 I was promoted to run the Metals, Minerals and Freight Platform for the group. Alongside a team of seasoned professionals, I hold overall responsibility for Base Metals, Warehousing, Coal, Iron Ore and Freight desks. I am responsible for the strategic management of teams including, operations, physical and financial trading, finance, banking relationships, liquidity management, and the allocation of risk capital.
