As a third generation Idahoan, and growing up in the small town of McCall, Shon began to grow his love of the landscape thru hiking, biking and fishing and hunting. As he began to pursue a path of college education he tinkered with Geological Engineering until one day discovering the field of Landscape Architecture in the University of Idaho careers journal. He has never looked back. After his undergraduate Vandal BLA, Shon moved to Wisconsin to take graduate courses in Landscape Restoration. He soon found himself working on projects from the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace to a waterfront redevelopment in Sturgeon Bay. But the western landscape beckoned him, so he went to Arizona taking with him a family and some innovative solutions to landscape place-making. He honed his resort development skills at Design Workshop and later the master planning of New Urbanist communities at SunCor Development Company.Shon has finally returned home to Idaho where he enjoys his involvement with Idaho communities, the alchemy of different design perspectives and the people of this great landscape. What he likes the best is the creative process and developing innovative solutions to challenging landscapes. He continues to master plan large communities such as Avimor and designs landscapes for people’s homes and businesses. Say hello to him if you every see him on the trail.
