Hello all! I'm Shonagh Clark, a second year student at Chicago-Kent College of Law. In addition to pursuing my JD, I aim to complete two certificate programs. The first, and easiest to explain, is a Certificate in Business Law. The program, as can be inferred, helps me to find business law courses to develop a broad understanding of the legal skills required in a commercial space. My undergraduate degree in business has largely influenced this selection, and has greatly assisted me in understanding the core concepts in these classes. The second certificate I intend to pursue is the Praxis certificate. The core belief of the Praxis program is that students need to gain practical experience in core legal skills during their time at law school. For me, this has included, among other things, becoming a CCR certified mediator, and participating in a simulated commercial real estate sale negotiation.
