Provide high-level testing diagnostics service to patients through analyzing their blood, bone marrow, lymph node tissues using flow cytometry. Monitor and document quality control in equipment, patient log, SOP, and CAP inspection and proficiency test. Lead several clinical trials through incorporation with third party in testing treatments in patients suffering from Covid19 and HIV.

With a PhD in biochemistry, I have been actively pursuing an independent research path in translational research (cancer, infectious disease and aging). As an experienced biochemist and molecular biologist, I have explored molecular mechanisms causing these diseases. With more than 16 years of laboratory expertise in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and aging, I have published 17 publications with 6 first authored peer-reviewed journals. To prepare for becoming an independent investigator, I have also submitted grant applications to federal and foundation agencies and have been awarded NIH- training grant. My knowledge and skills are rooted in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, and cancer biology, along my experimental skill records in Flow Cytometry, PCR, real-time PCR, western blot, ELISA, human patient specimens handling in clinical trials and lab. Needless to say, I have many years of working experience in using in vivo mouse models (breeding, xenograft tumor production and monitoring, drug treatment, tissue harvesting and analysis for various end points).To prepare for becoming an independent investigator, I have submitted several grant applications to foundation and federal agencies ( training grant and K grant) and have been awarded a NIH-supported Training Grant to develop an independent research project related to the mechanistic basis for Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH).

Aging study with specific focus on cellular senescence in causing benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and inflamm-aging in pneumonia. Study prostate cancer using both in vitro cell model and in vivo xenograft mice model to explore the molecular mechanism of its potential drug treatment.

Initiated a project in defining a functional role of a novel susceptibility gene (TMEM127) in pheochromocytomas. Studies showed that TMEM127 was involved in the signal transduction of the serine/threonine mTORC1 kinase pathway.

Gene regulation and signal transduction of Aurora A kinase, a kinase that is overexpressed in breast cancer and in several other cancers. GATA3, a transcription factor that regulates luminal epithelial cell differentiation in the mammary gland, has been reported for the first time to be a novel transcription factor in regulating the transcription of Aurora A kinase.

The gene regulation of Telomerase-encoding gene and its impact on aging. As a key enzyme in age, Telomerase is further explored by using its promoter to screen novel transcription factors. A novel method termed "oligonucleotide trapping" is optimized and successfully applied.

Teach Biochemistry course for college freshmen and advanced biomedical courses for master graduate students. Mentor senior college students to their graduation thesis (2 student per semester)
