About Vince Cyrus
An EXPERT in and a FOOL for Live Entertainment, working freelance in Vegas as a Video Eng, Audio Eng & Cam Op, learning from various types/sizes of live productions with the intention of one day producing my own stage shows!MY STORY: I started running audio systems and setting up backline at age 12. I was playing acoustic, electric, and bass guitar in several garage bands, so my parents bought my brother and me our own PA rig so we could put on our own shows.I’ve been singing, dancing and acting since Kindergarten—performing in talent shows, school plays, musicals, and the chorus. In 2001, I auditioned for and was accepted into the BFA Musical Theater program at UCF. There I also helped establish a new, campus dance crew called "Rukus" and performed with them for several years.After college, I decided I wanted to produce my own stage shows utilizing my extensive knowledge and experience in performance. I produced a handful of small shows in the sleepy town of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, featuring talented singers, dancers and musicians but realized my proficiency in live tech was insufficient to scale my concepts.So in 2014, I went back to college and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Show Production Systems (with a focus on Video Engineering) at Full Sail University. Upon graduating, I was recruited by Princess Cruise Lines as a Stage Tech and Camera Op and sailed the world for two years. After that, I traversed the entire US building and running audio visual setups for Fortune Builders seminars through OPAV Orlando Productions.In 2021, I relocated to Las Vegas—the live entertainment mecca of the world—where I’ve been freelancing for many production companies and entertainment venues all around town as a Video Engineer, Audio Engineer and Camera Operator. I specialize in camera shading, but also frequently build and program video walls and screen projection. My goal is to work with and study from the biggest names in the business and ultimately produce my own vegas-quality stage shows!
