Postdoctoral Researcher
1) Developed hydrologic-hydraulic model, including parameterization and testing, to study climate change induced flooding on coastal infrastructure with the aim to develop risk-based decision making framework. 2) Analyzing sea level rise, surge and rainfall-runoff responses on recurrent coastal flooding including cascading impacts over coastal infrastructure systems.

1) Hydrologic-hydraulic model development and testing in the city of Phoenix and Flagstaff, Arizona, by analyzing and utilizing hydrologic, infrastructural and citizen science data for real time flood modeling applications with the goal of advancing urban flood modeling for decision making. 2) Parameterized SWMM 1D models using multi-objective optimization in Linux based high computing clusters, developed real time flood forecasting model utilizing novel data collection infrastructure to support FloodAware project, developed algorithm to sample and fill missing attributes data for stormwater infrastructure systems, developed framework for optimal configuration of Green Stormwater Infrastructure in R and analyzed the effects of uncertainty in precipitation and land use on adaptation planning / decision making. 3) Developed ordinary differential equation based socio-hydrological system dynamics model for Columbia River Basin in R combining knowledge of hydrological science and behavioral science, to examine the dynamics of cooperative decision making in Columbia River Basin, and analyzed tradeoff between flood control and hydropower production.
Research Associate
1) Completed case studies of urban water system related Water-Energy-Carbon nexus in four Asian cities, Bangkok, Tokyo, New Delhi and Kathmandu, with the goal to understand drivers that influence WEC nexus across urban water systems, including water abstraction, conveyance, treatment, distribution and waste water collection, treatment and disposal. Further, evaluated water and energy conservation potential in water distribution system using hydraulic EPANET tool.2) Developed overarching framework for climate compatible development in cities, that includes indicators and tracking framework on cities’ climate actions, which supports benchmarking progress in climate actions, with the aim to help cities transition to climate compatible cities.3) Reviewed the state of renewable energy policies and interventions in Thailand with the aim to expand renewable energy usage and reduce fossil fuel related GHG emissions. 4) Reviewed and identified key principles for urban climate resilience and sustainable urbanization that build on the synthesis of knowledge presented in IPCC’s 5th assessment mainly from WGII Chapter 8 ‘Urban Areas’ and WGIII Chapter 12 ‘Human Settlements, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning’.
