• Design and provide engineering support for manufacture of custom special machines from initial concept to production.• Use SolidWorks to design parts and draft detailed 2D drawings with proper callouts for fabrication.• Follow ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards during design and drafting.• Create layout drawings with mounting dimensions and changeover procedures. • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and maintain product documentation within the Windchill PLM database.• Evaluate product concepts for design feasibility and manufacturability. Analyze simulation results and devise creative solutions. • Participate in internal and customer design reviews, document the purposed changes, and incorporate them into final designs.• Provide support during IQ/OQ/PQ validation processes and FAT of the finished machine. • Read and interpret old blueprints and reverse engineer outdated parts. Create detailed drawings with updated dimensioning and tolerance callouts. • Design test fixtures and tooling for rapid prototyping and testing of new concepts. • Make ergonomic calculations and comply with OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.• Publish and file Technical Documentation, Analysis Reports, Change papers, operator procedures and User Manuals. .• Support company ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) initiative.• Conduct failure investigation pertaining part defects and failed components to identify root cause. Review part failure analysis and derive corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. • Document findings of RCA and make required changes. File and publish ECOs accordingly.
