The objective of the project was to enhance the carrier mobility and reduce sheet resistance of fluorine-doped tin oxide thin films deposited via chemical vapour deposition (CVD). Humidity degradation of MAPbI3 thin films deposited via aerosol-assisted CVD were characterised and was presented in ASET 2020. Bromine-doped MAPbI3 thin films were also deposited and the subsequent work was published in 2019.

By understanding the interactions of radiations, a radioisotope Eu-152 was identified from its gamma spectrum, using Co-60 and Cs-137 for energy calibration. At very short detector-source separation, the intrinsic efficiency of the detector is compromised due to high probabilities of escaping of gamma rays without complete energy deposition. This was realized for the source-detector pair for efficient detection.

The project was aimed at exploring a solar cell with focus on the opticalcharacteristics of the transparant conducting oxide, TiO2 thin films, fabricated via dip-coating. The correlations between the optical band gap, dip coating speed, and the thickness of the thin film were optimized for photovoltaic applications.
