I was the first investor in Eaze. Fresh VC led Eaze's seed round. We went on to invest in multiple rounds following.

I led the 50+ person Product and Engineering team at Eaze (encompasses Product, Engineering, Analytics, and IT). Earlier during my time at Eaze, I had the opportunity to build and lead our highly analytical Growth, Lifecycle Marketing, Driver Operations, and Supply Chain teams. Over the 4 years I had overseen the Growth and Analytics teams, we had grown from $3M in GTV to $250M in GTV and had scaled our operations and driver supply (Supply Growth) to support that. I also built EazeMD (the product that catapulted our growth toward $100M GMV) and I kicked off our original brand partnerships strategy which evolved into advertising revenue streams for the business and a key competitive advantage from a selection and pricing standpoint. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have made a great impact on the company and our mission over the 5 years I spent there—learned so much from the experience. With over 300,000 customers in California, eaze has unprecedented access to aggregate data regarding cannabis market trends and consumer preferences which it shares with industry and media partners through its eaze Insights Program. eaze has raised over $200m from investors such as DCM Ventures, Bailey Capital, Fresh VC, and 500 Startups, and is one of the first tech companies to receive large scale institutional investment in the cannabis industry. eaze currently works with legal dispensaries that serve California cities across the Bay Area, parts of Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Diego County.

Fresh VC is no longer actively making investments in new portfolio companies. Brian and I still advise companies in our portfolio, manage our active investments, and sometimes syndicate investments into our existing portfolio.Fresh VC is a micro VC fund started by Shri Ganeshram and Brian Sheng. Fresh VC primarily invests in seed stage technology startups. The Fresh VC portfolio includes high growth companies like Eaze, Fiscal Note, Radar, Akido Labs, Eight Sleep, and Aptible.

Acquired, April 2024.Awning (awning.com) is on a mission to help individuals reach financial independence through real estate. Launched in 2021, the company’s technology enables individual investors to find and analyze single family rentals and vacation rentals across the US. Awning partners with world class agents, property managers, insurers, and other players in the ecosystem to support individual investors on their real estate investing journey. Awning is one of the highest trafficked website for individual real estate investors with nearly 100,000 real estate investors visiting every month, in large part due to the valuable data and educational content it provides -- leveling the playing field for individuals looking to pursue real estate across the United States.In late 2022, Awning launched its own in-house management service for vacation rentals which generates over $12M in revenue per year. Awning has operated an in-house brokerage in select markets which has facilitated over $50M in real estate purchases.

Shyp was my first startup investment. I was their first seed investor.

First exit. Quickly after our seed check, Marketo acquired Vessel for a great multiple.

Worked on two primary projects, leading a team of 3 other consultants:1. Built a front-end framework (modeled as a DSL) to enable traders with limited web programming experience to build UIs easily.2. Built the core visualization UI for traders to be able to visualize and execute transformations against real time data.I was responsible for the development, management, and design of these tools.

Y Combinator W13. Started FlightCar in my MIT dorm room. Ran our early PR + marketing. Built and designed all of our initial product as a team of 1. Grew our product/engineering team to continue to iterate and evolve our product. Managed our seed fundraise (over $6M raised). Acquired by Mercedes Benz.
