During the spring of 2018, I worked in Dr. Robert's lab at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) as a mentee in the Women's Research and Mentoring Program. The project that I worked on aimed to analyze resazurin reduction assays as a measure of cell viability in Taxus plant cell culture. Using spectrophotometry, I analyzed the accuracy and efficiency of modifications in the procedure to use resazurin in Taxus. I also designed an executed an experiment testing the effects of NaCl on cell viability through resazurin reduction. At the conclusion of the program, I presented my research at an exposition hosted by the Women's Impact Network at WPI to peers, professors, and people of non-science backgrounds.
