I am Design professional with 20+ years of Experience in Fashion and Retail.My journey began with National Institute of Fashion technology (1997-2000) and has since been a rewarding one.After a brief working experience in Mumbai, I started out on my own in December of 2002. The journey and experience of being a woman entrepreneur has been an interesting one. The learnings on the way have been quite varied, I started with 3 sewing machines, a pattern master and virtually no experience of running a manufacturing unit. We were fortunate enough to begin the entrepreneurial journey with Trent Ltd (brand Westside). Working with their team for 9 years taught us basics of manufacturing for organized fashion Private Labels. Along the way we added Max, Pantaloons and Project Eve to our experience and client base. We are a manufacturing unit with a niche in handcrafted and handmade womenswear products with now 18+ years of experience. We take pride in being a sustainable and conscious slow fashion manufacturer. In 2019 I decided to join a Bridge Program offered by NIFT, New Delhi. The 1 year course gave me a lot of interesting new learning and a much needed upgrade.The Pandemic gave us the time to pause and rethink on our future plans. Indirookh is my latest venture in Online retail and I hope to build it into a conscious sustainable fashion brand.
