Care PMS, a SEBI registered PMS, focused on investing in small caps was among the top 3 performing PMS in India till SEBI's new classification of Large, Mid and Small cap came into effect with restriction on MFs wrt to how much they can invest in Small Caps.My role was to spear head sales and convert leads to clients. Clientele was 50% domestic and balance were NRIs primarily from the middle east. Therefore, for CRM and new client acquisition I had to make frequent visits to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I also ventured into creating new market for Care PMS by travelling to Doha, Qatar and Hong Kong.During my tenure my learning was not limited to sales process and CRM but also included (i) rationale behind portfolio structuring; (ii) thought process for entry and exit from a portfolio company; and (iii) HNI mindset while deciding how much wallet share to give to a portfolio manager.

SIHL, an Ahemdabad based (securities) brokerage firm, with presence in Mumbai and Gujarat.My role was engage in Option trading for their prop desk and head their advisory business for retail clients in Mumbai. The role also involved frequent travel to Gujarat for conducting training sessions to Franchisees on ideas in Option instruments to generate annuity via Option writing/trading.Through my tenure at SIHL I was able to connect with market participants and end-clients and learning their psychology highlighted the importance of vacuum between investment products and clients.

Nirmal Bang is a Mumbai-based (securities) brokerage firm with Pan-India presence.My role was to analyse quantitative data in the derivatives segment and report to the prop desk managed by promoter Mr. Dilip Bang. Additionally, I was to update the promoter on news impact after speaking to the corresponding sector analyst from the institutional research team.Through my tenure, I was able to gain deep understanding of Indian equity market, derivatives segment, arbitrage operations and Option trading.

Gridstone Research, a tech start-up, focused on reducing time spent by Fund Managers in US equities on compiling QT (quantitative) and QL (qualitative) data. My role was to compile data from Earnings Press Releases, 10Qs, 10Ks and Conference call transcripts to write snippets and summary of management commentary. I was a founder batch employee and had received training directly from the Founders (ex-INFY middle and senior management)
