Develop Ask data analytics infrastructure. Generate data analytics products using Hadoop Map/Reduce computation which helps optimizing ads/content targeting, search quality, news feeding and site integrity, providing business insights.
A Security and Privacy-Enhanced Architecture for Mobile Location-Based Services - Performed risk and threat analyses and defined attack models.- Designed security protocols and system architecture.- Proposed a GSM-based location verification method and evaluated the performance through MatLab simulation. Exploiting Environmental Properties for Wireless Localization- Proposed an innovative idea that uses environmental properties for wireless localization, which reduces the costs of deploying additional infrastructure.- Designed the Flex-EP localization algorithm and its variants which solved inconsistent data units problem and the problem that data is unavailable at certain positions.- Designed the Spatio-Correlation Weighting Mechanism (SCWM) which selects parameter subsets that yield good localization accuracy.- Demonstrated through MatLab simulation using real world data that SCWM is effective; moreover, Flex-EP algorithms outperform the traditional localization methods by 20%.Spatio-Temporal Access Control- Studied the problem of Context-Based Access Control, and identified the problem of Spatio-Temporal Access Control (STAC).- Formulated an abstract STAC model, and proposed using Finite Automata to represent complex access control policies.- Designed a seamless architecture for STAC which improves the security while minimizing privacy breaches and position spoofing.Dynamic Time-Dependent Encryption (DTDE)- Identified the problem in Location-Based File Access Control that a user whose permissions have expired attempts to re-open a restricted file.- Proposed a Dynamic Time-Dependent Encryption system to solve the problem.- Designed Dynamic Encryption algorithms, and proposed solutions to time synchronization and memory access control problems that arise in the DTDE system.
