NOWI am a law graduate from NLU-Vizag and hold a masters degree in Corporate and Financial Law from JGLS. Enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi, currently, I work as a senior associate with the Corporate Laws team of Fox Mandal & Associates LLP at its Kolkata office. THENPrior to the aforementioned position, I worked as a Law Research Associate to the Hon’ble Members (Judicial) of the Hon’ble NCLT, Kolkata Bench for over two years. My work profile, inter alia, included research related to corporate insolvency and the Companies Act, 2013, preparing synopsis of cases listed for hearing, assisting Hon'ble Members in preparation of draft judgments, etc. I have also worked as an associate at a law firm in Delhi where my work profile primarily included assisting senior counsel in strategizing, legal research and drafting legal documents in high stake corporate and civil matters; on a day to day basis, I drafted petitions, pleadings (including plaint, written statement, reply, rejoinder, etc.), legal notices, various deeds, etc.WHAT AM I GOOD AT?My area of interest involves Corporate Law (specifically, IBC, 2016 & Companies Act, 2013). I believe in research and have a flair for writing research papers, essays, articles, etc. I have a total of six paper publications in prestigious Indian Law Journals and books. Apart from these six papers, I have also written legal and socio-legal articles for organisations like “Taxmann” and “Greenpeace India” (NGO). I have presented research papers at various national seminars and conferences. I have participated in and won several writing/drafting competitions. I also hold adequate experience as an editor; I held the post of Managing Editor of Jural Quorate, the flagship law journal of NLU-Vizag and the post of Editor of Green Governance (ISBN: 9788193398944), a book on environmental law published by Asia Law house. FUTURE CAREER GOALIn a business-centric world today, when the economic globalisation is spreading its arms, some countries are opening their trade gateways while some are restricting it - more and more intricate and stringent laws are being enacted, the importance of a legal professional with expertise in corporate law is gaining significance. This situation is more prominent in India since it has established itself as an investor-friendly nation and is climbing the ranks in the index of ease of doing business. I wish to be a part of this significant change by pursuing a career in corporate law and excelling in it.
