Research Scientist
Developed and researched the technology for thermoregulatory textiles: it works by regulating the dynamic temperature fluctuations faced daily by an Indian consumer, thus making the wearer more comfortable by modulating the body microclimate upto 2°C. This work was performed in collaboration with Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC), Manchester University and IIT Bombay-Monash Research Academy. Researched the technology of graphene and graphene oxide based encapsulation along with Phase Change Materials for better heat distribution profile.Completed a week long workshop on Textile Engineering organised by the Department of Textile Technology, IIT Delhi. Covered the basics related to textile engineering and manufacturing, starting from procurement of fibers to manufacturing processes and techniques for finished textiles.Worked closely with the team to develop several smart textile technologies, including anti-germ, antiviral and energy recovery. Developed and patented “Antimicrobial Composition And Process Of Preparing The Same”, providing log4 reduction and effectiveness against bacterias, viruses and fungi.Developed a formula for anti-microbial hair serum for the protection of hair against all kinds of microbes, and worked to implement further to hair care cosmetic range with focus on demands of high moving cities. Worked and designed several experiments for transition from lab to market, including products from categories like textiles, cosmetics, personal care and home care. Designed and created research specific lab equipment. Performed vendor research and collaborations to procure materials, equipment and chemicals.
Lead Researcher At Innovation Labs
Researched on various advanced wearable technologies for product development possibilities. Some areas of research include: ambient energy harvesters, flexible solar cells, piezoelectrics, flexible displays, printable circuits, etc.Developed the fabrication process for piezoelectric nanogenerators to be used in energy harvesting smart shoes. Fabricated a basic piezoelectric energy-harvesting shoe-sole.Researched and proposed fabrication steps for an affordable and efficient flexible solar cell.Single handedly established agreements with premier research labs like IISc Bangalore, to avail advanced facilities and services.
