The pandemic changed some of my plans and I found myself back in my homecountry. A few friends suggested to work as a consultant for UN or find a way to contribute while I am at home. Due to my background in working with youth, running my own NGO in Tajikistan and my experience in EU and USA with the private sector, I was headhunted for this role at UNICEF. I was quite excited and happy about the opportunity until I started going through the vigorous recruiting process. It lasted for three months and I had to go through multiple interviews, background checks/reference checks. They had to talk to almost all of my previous managers, from Tajikistan to India and from USA to Germany :). It all went smoothly and I joined the Adolescent Development Section which focuses on working with youth. During my short time at UNICEF, I had the opportunity to:- Lead and support one of the key programs on youth employability in the country,- Forge partnerships with local non profit organizations for project implementation,- Collaborate with deputy ministers across different ministries (Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Committee of Youth and Sport etc.),- Introduce an innovative approach of building partnerships with external partners (cold reach out to data annotation AI companies from abroad to put together partnership on impact souring/distance employment)

American Councils for International Education is an organization working to advance education and research. • I coordinated all aspects of recruitment, selection and testing of all program participants for two prestigious full-tuition scholarships;• Traveled to three different regions to conduct the recruitment (in remote regions with a helicopter);• Prepared annual budgets, monthly financial requests and reports.• I have maintained contact with DC office concerning testing schedule, requirements, reporting, etc.Before the starting the duties, I have attended a five day training in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

NSLI-Y Program is sponsored by U.S. Department of State and it provides merit based scholarships for USA high school students to learn different languages during summer.• Managed the local Program Budget of 60 thousand USD;• Assisted in development and implementation of the NSLI-Y program in Tajikistan; • Worked closely with Resident Director in processing receipts, reimbursement and other financial paperwork associated with the program;• Assisted in organizing program events, including arrival, mid-program and re-entry workshops for participants

With four friends, I started a small training center for youth. After delivering hundreds of training sessions, we were ready for something bigger. We then registered the company as a republican NGO and grew our team and our reach. By collaborating with different local and international organizations, this youth NGO aimed to organize conferences and training sessions on improving leadership skills, public speaking, and time management skills. • I have co-founded the organization besides the obstacles and 16 rejections;• I devised project proposals with detailed budgets to conduct youth conferences;• Through this NGO, we have received grants from international organizations and conducted conferences in two different cities involving 15 universities, ministry of education and other partners;• I led a team of 4 dedicated colleagues and 25 volunteers.(from June 2010 - July 2011 I was in the US and was supporting the team remotely)
