Shulin is currently an intern at UNIDO Headquarters with its Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, where he has gained hands-on experience in program management, partnership building, and event organization under the general theme of inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) and SDG9 within the regional and global context. The projects he is working on include UNIDO’s flagship initiative Bridge for Cities, supporting China International Import Expo (CIIE), supporting Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), among others. Meanwhile, Shulin is also a Master student in International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, a well-established joint degree program by The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in the US and Nanjing University in China. Specifically, his research interests include the China-US relations, Chinese and American foreign policy, international organizations, international development, and global governance.Shulin started to explore an internationalized career path through an internship with UNESCO-ICHEI, focusing on administration and external relations while also gaining knowledge of this UNESCO center’s mandate in higher education digital transformation contributing to SDG4.Additionally, Shulin had experience with Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Region (ANSO), and the Foreign Affairs Office of China’s city of Chengdu, where skills have been developed in news and information service, international communication, public information, and diplomatic protocols. Shulin’s undergraduate study in translation also equipped him with strong competency in cross-cultural communication and adaptability to a highly diversified work environment.
