SkyNRG is the Joint Venture between KLM,Spring Associates, Argos North Sea Group During 2006-2008, KLM worked on its climate Action plan with the assistance of spring associates. After Three years of R&D effort, the airline recognized that sustainable jet fuel was a key ingredient in the transition towards a sustainable future for aviation. KLM also recognized the need for ta capable market player to develop the sector, identifying the need and interests of the airline industry. SkyNRG was formed to become this market player. The initiative was announced in November 2009, following the first successful KLM demonstration flight using sustainable jet fuel. The company share the concerns of NGOs (and other stakeholders) when it comes to bio-energy resources. SkyNRG believe in the notion that “the impact of bioenergy on social and environmental issues may be positive or negative depending on local conditions and the design and implementation of specific projects”
