Over a decade and half experience of working on socio-environmental projects across diverse Indian landscapes with focus on strategizing and planning for forest and landscape restoration. My expertise is in action-oriented research focusing on economics of ecosystem & biodiversity, integrating sustainability and climate change concerns into public policy making, sustainability in supply-chains & livelihoods, and community-based landscape conservation and restoration. I am co-founder of ClayRoot Sustainable Development Foundation – an action and impact-oriented research organization addressing the emerging challenges surrounding the complex interactions between the social, natural and economic systems by partnering with government agencies, communities and corporates in Maharashtra, Odisha and Karnataka. Recently, I have completed a comprehensive year long course on Tropical Forest Landscapes: Conservation, Restoration & Sustainable Use, offered by the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies under the Yale’s Environmental Leadership & Training Initiative. Through the course, I have interacted with conservation practitioners across 29 countries, gaining insights on the challenges and opportunities for tropical forest conservation and restoration across diverse geographies.Special interest in developing ecology-economy linkages at landscape scale, payment for ecosystem services, community connect & empowerment for inclusive-green value chains, Sustainable agriculture, restoration action and collaboration for forest-scapes, agri-scapes and urban-scapes.
