As a Medical translator in the International Patient Services Team I am responsible for translating patient’s concerns and doctor's diagnoses both verbally and in writing. I am responsible for the patients from Indian subcontinent (Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka) including VVIP’s. I also need to translate patient's information, pharmacological instructions, and hospitals' informational brochures. I also need to ensure that medical information is understood by patients by simplifying any jargons. I need to keep patient’s personal and medical information confidential abiding to the regulations such as PDPA.

I was responsible for covering Singapore related stories as a freelance writer/ distant correspondent. It included covering different articles and breaking news for numerous target audiences on topics such as sports, events, general and breaking news. Some of my published works include articles such as F1 night race, Bengali Film Festival, Durga Puja, Earthquake, Prince William and Kate’s Singapore’s visit, etc. I have attached a few articles as the appendix.

I was responsible for ¬¬¬public relations and event managements such as career fair, placement of students. I worked closely with many industries like automobile, electronics and retail. I placed more than 200 students in automobile giants such as Maruti Suzuki, Volvo and Hyundai; Electronics companies such as Godrej, Samsung and LG; and retail giants like Reliance, Great Eastern and Future Group. I have been a key support for the East Indian regional team.

As a sub editor, my responsibilities were to handle important stories with great care, delegate stories to field reporters, proofreading as well as subbing of articles sent by various journalist/columnist/field reporters, discuss the report with the Editor before filing it. I conceptualized the design and layout for the regional periodical art and cultural magazine Tritio Sutro. My creativity also took a front seat in this role. I used to conceptualise and implement page and cover designs, select the layout and content for the tabloid etc. I also used to write short, snappy news stories & features, select pictures for the stories etc. I also interviewed many famous personalities.

As a print media reporter and copy editor, I used to cover fashion, health and lifestyle based news and feature writing. I interacted and attended various press conferences, rallies, conventions, meetings and functions before writing these articles. Spent a long time in the field for coverage and filing report on editorial desk. Interviewed many celebrities. I also used to do the editing and proofreading of other reporter’s articles.

As a television reporter I covered multiple sporting events including national and international football and cricket matches. This also includes an international cricket match held between India and Srilanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. I interviewed many famous sports celebrities in this role.
