Dr. Dighe has over 30 years of management experience in diversified fields of chemical and high-temperature plasma technology. He is the founder of Westinghouse Plasma Corporation (WPC), which he formed after purchasing the plasma division from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Pittsburgh in 1999 ( http://www.westinghouse-plasma.com ). He was responsible for the management of all operations at the Westinghouse Plasma Center located at Waltz Mill site, Madison, Pennsylvania.During eight years under Dr. Dighe’s direction, WPC built four commercial plants worldwide utilizing plasma technology for the conversion of municipal solid waste (MSW) and other hazardous wastes to useful electricity. Two MSW-to-energy plants were built in Japan with the participation of Hitachi Metals Ltd. The other two waste-to-energy plants were built in India to treat hazardous wastes.WPC was sold to Alter NRG Corp, a Canadian public corporation, in 2007. Dr. Dighe continued as the President of WPC until 2009. In 2010, he started Dighe Technologies Corporation (DTC), a holding company, to develop plasma projects. Currently, he is President and CEO of AquaSource Technologies Corporation which was started in 2011 to provide wastewater treatment service to the shale drilling companies. Dr. Dighe has worked extensively in the areas of nanospheres technology for making metal oxide powders and chemical vapor deposition technology for making diamond films with DC plasma arc heaters. He has also worked in the areas of toxic and hazardous waste treatment, coal gasification, fuel cells and ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC).Dr. Dighe holds 19 US patents and 4 Canadian patents. He has published several peer-reviewed papers in the above areas of research.
