I've been working as intern under Dr. Tim Poston, Chief Scientist Forus Health Pvt Ltd and we working in defining a new algorithm for quality assessment for eye images for 'NVDIA GPU' acceleration which we will be useful in real time systems.

Forus makes instruments to photograph the front and inside-back of the eye. Lighting, lens arrangement, etc., all affect the image quality. Design improvements can be more systematic with a quantitative measure of quality (contrast, sharpness, etc.) than by subjective comparison.
