CurrentIn this hybrid individual contributor/manager role, I lead product strategy, roadmap, and execution across the Feed Infrastructure, Feed Ranking, and Feed UX teams. In a year, the team reversed a decline in engagement; contributions (comments, replies, & reactions) improved from -5% y/y in Q3 2022 to +22% y/y in Q3 2023) and scroll depth grew by 24%.Led the unification of feed and notifications candidate selection logic and infrastructure. This change increased relevant content liquidity, leading to +4% sessions, +9% scroll depth, and +3% contributions.Shipped multiple feed ranking ML models and heuristic changes at each stage of the feed ranking pipeline. Cumulatively, improvements to feed relevance translated to +12% contributions while making the feed fresher and more local (both improved by 10%+).Improved ad spacing in feed, leading to a 4% increase in ad impressions with no adverse engagement impactAs a manager, responsible for UX initiatives to improve feed consumption and participation; the Feed UX team increased scroll depth by 11% and contributions by 6% while improving the qualitative feed experience. Projects included better display of media (taller aspect ratios, grid view), showing an open comment box to likely commenters, and reducing inefficiently used space in each feed item.I also lead a company-wide initiative to improve client-side component view and action tracking across the app. This foundational initiative will provide accurate data for use in ML models, experiment analysis, and business reporting.
