Having served 14 years as a military officer, I am well versed in leading people through both highly challenging and less demanding times and everything in between. The blurred lines between professional and personal life when deploying with a team, all of which are away from family for extended periods, bring with it close relationships and deep understanding your of team. Delivery of operations, planning and crisis management have been my specialism concurrent to leading my team in training, engagements and deployments.My wife has been posted to Washington DC and the combination of careers, while raising two young children has now reached an anticipated impasse and the decision has been made to depart the military to rebalance. The skillsets gained over my career are diverse and people orientated and I intend to utilise them in my next career, with focus on Project Management.I intend to formalise my Project Management experience with a PRINCE2 qualification and join the Association of Project Managers and deep dive into the profession. I am looking for roles within Defence and Logistics but open to wider industry and am excited for the opportunities that may arise in the USA.
