Kumon is an educational program that specializes in tutoring kids 3 years and older in math and reading. I got the chance to work as one of the teachers there. I worked with kids and tutored them in challenging problems hat sometimes I had to learn just to help. Learning to be patient and listen was a necessity as there were kids who would get very emotional if they did not understand the materiel. I have always found joy in working with little kids, so it was a great opportunity. I also worked with older kids,15-18 year olds and learned multiple ways on how do do a problem while trying help them. As well as working with kids, I learned new strategies that I didn’t know which helped me in school.

Tejari-a plant-based protein brand-was formed by an entrepreneur, Roma Patel, whose small business is starting to take off. I would intern for her every summer. The first summer I helped her with the layout and decorations of the room she was going to be working in while also helping her find furniture pieces. The next 2 summers I helped her with inventory and packing protein powders into sachets and boxes then shipping them out.
