Responsible for the planning, strategic development and delivery of Digital and Participation strategies and activities for a small NPO Arts organisation. Delivering on a wide range of socially engaged practice outcomes for ACE using film and creative participation to engage more people in complex art work and become creative agent in their own right.Recent projects include - designing and delivering work in schools and youth clubs to reflect on strategies for safety and wellbeing on social media around gender and identity issues - working with Dr Cath Lambert, Dept Sociology, University of Warwick to deliver engagement activities using socially engaged work made with people in recovery from addiction and sexual violence to explore using this kind of art work in Social Services settings to develop empathy and understanding.

I was contracted to help transform the delivery of VDT's on stage productions to film for wider distribution and engagement. Using my film making knowledge, understanding of the digital world and TV re-versioning experience alongside my interest and understanding of purposeful creative social engagement to share stories for social purpose widely we massively increased VDT's audience and participation figures.

As freelance Producer for A&E UK (History Channel) at SKY, worked on thousands of programmes for History, Military History, Biography and Crime & Investigation over the years and hundreds of films for National Geographic and Channels 4 and 5 with Flashback TV.Directing a range of artists from Helen Mirren and Mariella Frostrup to John Challis and Sean Ryder.

Designed and delivered, as lead lecturer, News & Documentary Level 3 BTEC course for The Media House, a project managed by MFD (Media for Development) at Downview Women's Prison - employed through Carshalton FE College. Once they had graduated we supported women in the Media House to run their own "narrowcast" TV channel offering peer to peer learning for the prison community.Also taught in The Josephine Butler Unit regularly, a YOI for women under 18, designed and delivered short courses to work with AQA requirements focused on turning digital knowledge and engagement in to purposeful communication for education and employment.With my experience in documentaries for social purpose regularly invited to teach documentary as guest lecturer, taught over a couple of years on the Media Degree at LCP (London College of Printing).

Broadcast – worked with a wide range of Independent Production Companies making a range of broadcast documentaries largely for C4. My specialism became social documentary focused on women and children. As a Writer-Producer-Director for Broadcast TV my RTS award winning Date-Rape Drama Documentaries for ITV contributed to the debate about eliminating the mandatory corroboration ruling in rape cases. I also spent several years working with a BAFTA winning team, directing programmes for Teachers TV, including three 30min films about Human Rights with Cherie Booth QC and Matrix Chambers, and with other educational organisations like LGT profiling best practice in schools and classrooms up and down the country.

Earned my ticket at the COI, making public information films with the likes of RSA (Ridley Scott Associates) and working on DTI conferences, I have been engaged by a wide range of corporate clients from Courtaulds and IBM to Scholl surgical stockings. Directing various different artists including Johanna Lumley and Anna Ford.

First Broadcast work was in Third Sector Broadcasting - worked with The International Broadcasting Trust (IBT) making films for NGO's, for broadcast on Channel 4, Yorkshire TV and BBC. Worked with numerous small charities on a range of engagement projects from Target TB, a small Brighton based charity, supporting them to confidently make their own short promotional/educational film with a very modest DIFD grant, to the Howard League and Media for Development.Recently over the course of a year facilitated the making of a series of short films with Sussex Partnerships NHS, supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs to make a set of films about how to have a voice in their care planning. Team Springwell were awarded a Gold Positive Practice Award. The Springwell films were screened at the Duke of Yorks and are used to help people navigate the services.

I was a shareholding Director of Flashback TV for over a decade, one of the UK's top 10 Independent Production Companies. I made films as a freelance Producer/Director for ITV and Channel 4 in the UK and A&E in the USA .
