Responsible for the development, and strategically leading the implementation of, England Netball’s 2018-2021 Coaching Strategy across the Development and Performance domains of netball. Positively contributing to the organisational wide Your Game Your Way Strategy, ensuring that coaching is helping to create great netball experiences for all netballers.Working with external stakeholders such as UK Coaching, Sport England and UK Sport and developing volunteer relationships in County and Regional Associations to ensure that coaching in netball is appropriately supported and at the forefront of the agenda.As the project lead for the UK Sport funded Netball World Cup Legacy project, working with the International Netball Federation, UK Sport and the Netball Associations in Zambia and Argentina, to create a long lasting International legacy, using the power of the Netball World Cup at both grassroots and High Performance levels.

Working with key partners across the sport and physical activity landscape to understand their challenges and work with them to provide workforce solutions that increase engagement in their participation and talent programmes. Key relationships include National Governing Bodies of Sport, County Sport Partnerships, Commercial providers, Local Authorities and other public sector bodies.

Responsible for providing coaching and performance management of c£10 million Sport England workforce investment across the East Midlands and Merseyside into Local Authorities, County Sport Partnerships, Higher and Further Education Institutions and National Governing Bodies of Sport programmes.Relationship manager for the 5 East Midlands County Sport Partnership Coaching Leads, Merseyside Sport Coaching Lead, Liverpool City Council Sports Development, Nottingham City Council Sport, Leisure and Parks Executive Directors, Nottingham City of Football (http://www.city-of-football.uk) Managing Director and Regional NGB Officers. Through organisation and personal development planning, identify their support, learning and development needs in regards to coaching, and emerging sports sector themes. These needs include:1. Their ability to generate and apply insight to ensure they reach and engage with their priority participation and coaching audiences2. Their ability to Influence and advocate the case for coaching as a business critical function, to partners and internal members of staff3. Successful application of behaviour change principles and the use of technology in the design of coaching programmes 4. Identifying innovative and appropriate monitoring and evaluation methods for coaching interventions deliveredUp until August 2015, the above relationship management function also included working with the CEOs, Development Directors, Coaching Leads and Performance Directors for the NGBs of British Judo, England Squash and Racquetball, English Lacrosse and Table Tennis England to help them develop identify their organisation and workforce needs. This then looked specifically at ensuring they had appropriate coach education systems and recruitment campaigns to deliver on their Sport England investments successfully.

Responsible for the management and one to one support of athletes across the senior, U21, U19 and U17 age group squads in training camps, Test Series and European Championships. Acting as Team leader and primary point of contact for all major global Netball Championships, ensuring effective and timely liaison and communication with the organising Federation, Championship host and Commonwealth Games England. Liaison and management of commercial stakeholders including Sky Sports and identified sponsors, as well as working with the Compliance and Inclusion Officer and UK Anti-Doping to establish a drug free regime within England Netball.

Working as part of the University of Leeds Performance team to support 10 University scholars and their coaches, to manage their lifestyles to maintain success in their International and University sport and academic lifestyles. The focus of the role being in the developing of elite athletes personally and professionally, and providing the University of Leeds with a competitive advantage in BUCS competition. Working closely with the University of Leeds Performance team, the position supports all aspects of a player’s lifestyle and well-being in order to maximise their performance. The Key Responsibilities include• To work within an interdisciplinary team to improve performance through developing and implementing a performance sport specific lifestyle programme with focus on the areas of: o Personal Development o Professional skills development o Well-being and mental health o Managing transitions and change o Managing education and career development

Responsible for the advocacy, coaching specific budget and strategic planning for coaching across the business and within the Regional Netball Associations in the delivery of the England Netball corporate vision, specifically working with the Head of Development, Performance Director and Head of Regions and chairing the National Coaching Advisory Group, to deliver the Back to Netball, Clubs, University, Performance and Schools participation programmes across the country. Responsible for ensuring that across the development and performance departments, there was a common understanding on the need to ensure these programmes were underpinned by the development of appropriate insight, feeding into the development of a national coaching strategy and appropriate monitoring and evaluation methods.Project management of the design, production, editing and marketing of a series of coaching learning and development programmes across junior, clubs and performance based coaches including printed resources, online videos, face to face workshops and a national coaching conference.Line management function of an approximate national network of 75 casually employed coach educators, and 2 full time employed co-ordinators.

Responsible for working with a network of professional and volunteer stakeholders across West Yorkshire to deliver netball to a variety of participants across grass roots and talent pathway programmes. Key stakeholders included Local Authorities, County and Regional Netball Associations, County Sport Partnership, local clubs and schools and the netball coach and participant communities.The role included establishing and chairing a West Yorkshire steering group to manage the delivery of the county netball development plan, managing key relationships and performance management of the delivery of the plan specifically with the County Association management board, feeding into the Regional Association management board.

Responsible for the planning and delivery of netball sessions for 300 girls aged 9-18 years old in the performance programme, including the head coach for squads that reached the England National Championship finals, finishing 4th and 2nd in consecutive years. The role also included the writing of the school’s netball development plan, including within it a recruitment strategy and engagement plan for working with key stakeholders such as England Netball, University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University and Yorkshire Jets Superleague Netball Franchise. Lead U14 and U16 teams to England Netball National Schools Championship Finals.

Responsibility for the recruitment of approximately 60-80 new members per month, as well as the relationship management of key corporate stakeholders including Leeds Rhinos Rugby League, Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union, Yorkshire LTA, SAKS Hair and Beauty and the national GymFlex corporate scheme.Overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the club’s customer service charter and member engagement strategy to ensure the successful retention of 95% of the clubs’ membership over a 12 month period.Line management of 6 coaching staff and an administrator to ensure the successful delivery of the club’s High 5 holiday and after school activity programme. Responsibility for ensuring the programme generated a turnover of at least £150,000 per annum through the development of a member-focussed programme, creating repeat business and membership conversion.
