Creative Director & Co-Founder at Pleasant State - We create ethical products that make home care a form of self care. I've always been drawn to communication. My biggest joy is finding quirky, engaging and unique ways to communicate messages. Originally from Melbourne I studied Professional Communication majoring in Journalism before starting my own art magazine (Y.AMB Magazine) in 2015. While running the magazine and attending media events I became really interesting in Public Relations and soon began working with the team at iD Collective, a Boutique PR, Social Media & Events Agency in Melbourne. What started as a role in PR then moved into Social Media Management and then Creative Direction. Working in an agency of this nature during the rise of social media forced me to learn a lot about the industry very quickly. I was trained in Facebook Advertising, Photography and Social Media Management but was drawn to leading and directing creative projects. When I felt I'd learnt all I could in that environment I made the big decision to pack up my life, buy a van and hit the road. Just 4 months later I was in Noosa Queensland and I've lived here ever since. After a couple of years as the Marketing Manager at Land & Sea Brewery and Freelancing, I met Ami Bateman at a local cafe in January of 2020. She introduced me to the concept of just-add-water cleaning products, asked if I wanted to help bring the brand to life and the rest is history. Two years later, we're in 15,000 homes across Australia and New Zealand, we've saved over 70,000 plastic cleaning bottles from going to landfill and we've donated over $38,000 to our charity partners. I could not be more proud of what we've achieved and how much I've learnt in this time. We've built a brand that our customers love and trust and I've had the freedom to create meaningful and impactful content that can actually inspire and create change...How lucky am I?Some of my greatest achievements include First Runner Up in the HP Generation Incubator and runner up in the 7News Queensland Young Achiever Awards in the Innovation category. But my greatest achievement since starting Pleasant State has been finding my voice, my passion and my confidence as a business owner.

Editor In ChiefY.Amb Magazine Apr 2015 - Dec 2017Melbourne, AustraliaIn April of 2015 I launched Y.AMB Magazine, an online and print publication that aimed to showcase the creative juices of Australian emerging artists. Through extensive involvement in the creative community as both a creative director and a model, I saw a gap in the market for local art recognition and I felt that Y.AMB was the perfect solution. As the business owner and editor in chief I was responsible for managing all aspects of the business’s development such as Business management, B2B and B2C communications, content creation, social media management, concept design, graphic design and event management. Starting this business thrust me into new and very challenging situations, allowing me to quickly develop a broad and rich understanding of communicative techniques and endeavours. In 2017 I closed the magazine, as I wanted to invest my time solely into working for my clients at iD Collective. In two years I had released 7 issues, worked with creatives from all over Melbourne, built an extensive and dedicated following, received interest from the Government for grants and held three very successful events. It’s something that I am very proud of, and believe it hasheavily influenced how I work to this day.
