Having worked across a number of specialty areas including a busy Emergency Department as a General Nurse, I have spent the last 17 years specialising in the areas of Youth Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse. The knowledge gained through Postgraduate studies in Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol and Sexual and Reproductive Health Nursing combined with a Masters in Nursing Practice (Nurse Practitioner) enables me to balance my practical expertise with a sound academic base. I am able to work with great complexity across all ages, for those presenting with mental illness and/or drug and alcohol concerns by utilising a multi-theoretical psychotherapy method to discover how experiences affect emotional responses. My understanding of biospsychosocial needs enables me to conduct physical examinations alongside comprehensive psychosocial assessments. My knowledge of support services is extensive and my ability to link patients and carers is excellent.I have the proven ability to engage with clients who have complex mental health/drug and alcohol concerns by utilising a model of care that encompasses all areas of health.
