Don´t look back at the house, because if you do, you´ll want to go back. I´ll never forget saying those words to my sister. The year was 1980 and we were scrambeld into a rowboat at the edge of our village. We were anxious to begin a new life in a new country. But as the boat began to move out to sea, I knew that if either of us looked back, we would lose our courage. On the first leg of our trip, our drinking water ran out. Our prayers for rain went unanswered for days until the boat reached the coast. There a great storm brought torrential rains. We finally made it to land. The worst was over. We were lucky. I had tried two earlier times to escape. I was promoted to several jobs as I worked my way around different Westaflex locations. It motivated me to learn new things. With the help of some good mentors, I taught myself how to manage different functions like EDI, quality and enviromental themes. Eventually I learned how to mange an entire project. As I look back on the path that led me here, I truly believe if you have a vision and set golas, you can go anywhere you want to go.
