Overall management responsibility for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, decision support, financial systems, and financial reporting functions within Shared Services, providing centralized services to all sites.

In addition to roles and responsibilities as Vice President of Financial Reporting and Chief Accounting Officer:- Lead oversight of financial operations at “Corporate” as well as oversight at the hospitals, medical groups and global risk segment.- Lead monthly meetings with local finance teams to review financial performance, KPIs and discuss matters impacting current month, performance to budget and performance improvement initiatives.- Cross functional leadership over Finance aspects of various support services including IT, Supply Chain and Purchasing, Legal and Insurance Services.- Led the budgeting process for fiscal 2021 across the company.- Finance lead for the implementation and optimization of Oracle Cloud across all markets and segments, which included standardizing and optimizing processes across Finance. - Leading initiatives to reduce costs through vendor consolidation and optimization in support services; working to create strategies around vendors, including assisting with preparation and review of ROI modelling.

Prospect Medical was previously a PE backed health system which, at its height, had 20 hospitals, and affiliated medical groups, in 6 states. Responsible for all external financial reporting as well as financial close of Corporate segment and fully supporting, and directing local accounting departments across all markets and business segments. Assisted with the post-acquisition integration and rebuilding of the accounting groups, and led a number of initiatives to improve on the internal accounting and financial reporting processes.

Prime Healthcare is a health system with 45 acute care hospitals in 14 states. Steven was responsible for technical research and support, accounting policy, and external reporting, and commenced the process of standardization across over 25 decentralized accounting groups. During Steven's tenure, the company acquired nine facilities, and Steven assisted with the post-acquisition integration and rebuilding of the accounting groups, and led a number of initiatives to improve on the internal accounting and financial reporting processes.

Elements Behavioral Health was a private equity backed provider of multisite residential and outpatient behavioral health services with 20 facilities across 9 states, including two acquisitions and one de novo during his tenure. Steven led the accounting and financial reporting functions both at corporate and all regions. Steven played a substantial role in the management of the dual track sale/public offering processes, including leading discussions with the SEC on filing/reporting relief and technical matters, and management of the sell side internal due diligence. Steven led the analysis of financial and accounting implications of critical transaction initiatives.

Steven had a 50% focus on the healthcare industry, as well as technology and retail/consumer products. Steven managed complex multi-location audits and advised clients on IPOs, secondary offerings, debt offerings, and accounting and technical issues. Steven also led many buy side diligence projects in BDO’s Transaction Advisory Services group from 2008.
