About Sid Goddard

My considerable experience gained at the various levels of my career have been varied and challenging. I have seen the industry change in many ways from the abolition of borders and customs throughout the EC ( I was involved at that time as trialists for the customs free systems) to the changes from 'Shipping and Forwarding' to the all encompassing ' Transport and Logistics' which has provided me with challenges both many and interesting.I have started a company from a day one position and have overseen the many aspects necessary to see it grow and flourish. In addition to the creation and monitoring of budgets, the employment and management of staff I have developed numerous new services , sourcing like minded potential partners throughout Europe on both the logistics and transport sides. I am now in a position to take on a new challenge whether it be short, long or fixed term contract which will continue to provide me with the mental stimulus I need together with fulfilling a requirement within the industry. To that end I would welcome proposals from interested parties.

Following the merger of Prestige into the Transglobal Group in 2011 I was asked shortly after this tp take on the role of General Manager, European Services for the whole company together with overall responsibilityfor the Basildon office / warehouse site of over 20 staff . Following theplanning, implementation and completion of relocation from 'end of lease' situation in October 2013 I decided in March 2014 to curtail my employment and departed May 2014 .

In conjunction with two partners I started our own new group of companies in 1992. Whilst my partners ran other related companies my area of responsibility was on the European market where together with developing our own groupage / part load services with a number of other industrial centres, we provided a full range of logistics services to clients throughout the UK and Europe. This was a successful enterprise and continued until we decided to sell the forwarding companies as part of a plan towards eventual retirement. The successful sale was completed in 2011 and together with all staff I joined the new company ( TransGlobal Frt Mment Ltd) where I had committed myself to a minimum of two years.
