Entrepreneur with a proven track record of innovative achievements at national scaleIn-depth cross-functional industrial, business and academic experienceSummery:After qualifying as a pharmacist in 2004, I began working in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. There, I became acutely aware of an NHS payments ambiguity which was being exploited by pharmacy chains and pharmaceutical companies to make unreasonably large profits at the expense of the NHS. After analysing the entire landscape at a strategic level, in 2006 I set up a pharmaceutical company with the intention of disrupting this exploitation of NHS funds. Using an innovative supply chain model, and a matrixed, creative regulatory and marketing strategy, I was able to offer the NHS an alternative to the status quo. Despite conflicting with dominant players within the industry, I was able to launch a total of six products and achieved my ambition of saving the NHS in excess of £20million/annually. I sold the company in 2011 to United Drug PLC, where I continued to work as a senior level executive to head the company within the larger group structure, and headed R+D across group companies, in this role I also worked with acquisitions and investments, providing advice on novel research, and investment opportunities and due diligence. I have always had an interest in environmental issues, and have worked with investment bankers specialising in renewable energy, to analyse investment and company data.
