“Generally speaking, investing in yourself is the best thing you can do. Anything that improves your own talents is worthwhile, because nobody can take it away from you. They can run up huge trade deficits, the dollar can become worth far less, the economy can be in decline, but if you’ve got talent yourself, you’ve got a terrific asset." ~ Warren BuffettI'm convinced that having the right idols in life is an integral part to a person’s success. I’ve always thought that wealth should be viewed as a by-product of success rather than a person’s sole incentive in life. I've always derived a lot of gratification from my work, but I'm also careful never to give in to complacency. I'm a perpetual student, and I'm currently finishing my undergrad degree, with ambitions of a Master's in the long run.I figure if you’re going to work for a third of your life, you may as well love it, right? I’ve always looked on the bright side of things and I think that a good sense of humour will carry you far in life. I've always liked financial work, and I admire the traits (logic, reason, research & analysis) necessary to do it. I enjoy stock trading in my personal time, and it's only further strengthened my resolve to pursue Finance as a career. So here’s my highlight reel: I put myself through college and graduated debt-free with a Diploma in Computer Programming, I got hired right out of college at Toronto's biggest energy company and I'm on track to complete a degree in Finance from a well-respected school in the U.S. I volunteer my time at a local animal shelter and I have traveled to over a dozen countries. I currently work in a job I love, as an accounting admin, where I continue to learn a lot. I believe that to be truly successful, a person must have a firm grasp on reality while never losing faith in their dreams.
