In my last role, I was assigned to set up & manage operations, P & L as well as customer engagement for Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) & Information Technology Outsourcing BUs. My role was pivotal in scaling this up in terms of people as well as business, inspite of stringent timeline and cost constraints. I was accredited & widely acclaimed for setting up the Knowledge Process Outsourcing operations (KPO) & Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) operations in the Captive Centre in less than 10 months, a record time in itself. I also oversaw IT as well as Financial Risk Management functions, while being entrusted with additional role involving new business opportunities in 3rd party operations space. Additionally, I was a member of Executive Committee (Highest decision making body), Compensation Committee & Purchase Committee.

Here, I was assigned the task to drive the entire P & L as well as customer relations accountability for Captive and 3rd Party operations. I set-up 7 High-end Analytics functions in India that include Capital Markets, Mortgage Analytics, Portfolio Valuation, Default Asset Analytics, Call Centre Analytics, Six Sigma Control Reporting for captive operations and Collateral Analytics for 3rd party operations. Critical areas of responsibility also include facilitating decision making by the Executive Management by way of financial, business, operational reporting & analysis. I also spearheaded setting – up of Unified Data Source for various analysis and reporting. This resulted in significant time as well as cost savings, while significantly making the process more productive, efficient as well as error free. Additionally, I contributed to manpower optimization and higher retention along with lowered manpower cost. My role also entailed designing a structured training package that reduced Learning Curve for Analytics Functions from 1 year to 3 months.

During my tenure here, I set-up the entire Broking Back Office for Refco-Sify Securities India Pvt Limited and re-vamped the existing Broking BackOffice set-up for Investsmart India Limited. I also designed SOPs, eliminated bottlenecks, automated manual systems and focused on operational excellence through productivity improvement, error reduction, training & enablement. My role also involved pioneering strategic technology initiatives involving development of software including Broking BackOffice system, Depository Participant Electronic Interface system and Public network based Transaction Systems. This included project conceptualization, design, progress, vendor evaluation, management, cross-functional collaboration and subsequent deployment. I was the recipient of award for streamlining of Investsmart India Limited operations.

This tenure was full of learning & enrichment for me. It was extremely rewarding & enriching. I was a part of the core team involved in setting up the exchange, designing processes, implementing path breaking systems and driving pioneering technologies in the industry. I also acted as an External Interface, interacting with SEBI & other government bodies for rules/ regulations/ information pertaining to clearing & settlement. As a part of the role, I provided advice to the Investor Grievance Cell on queries pertaining to clearing & settlement and providing vital inputs during arbitration proceedings. The role also entailed handling vital issue specific inputs to Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), Committee on Settlement Issues (COSI) and Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) for their consideration & due action. My role was also pivotal in driving Investor Awareness programs and directing the Y2K roll-over strategy during the tenure.

These were early years of my career. I was involved in Business Sourcing after selection of Target Markets in Corporate Finance (ICDs, Bills, Leasing & Hire Purchase proposals) and Merchant Banking (Issue Management, Term Loan syndication & private placement of Equity/Debt instruments). Unique & innovative strategies & initiatives led to delivery of unprecedented results in terms of business as well as reach.
