Operations And Supply Chain InternKbsam Aluminum Jun 2018 - Aug 2019Kathmandu, NepalKBSAM Aluminum is the leading producer of aluminum bars in Nepal. With ties to Dubal in Dubai and Thai Alco in Thailand, KBSAM has managed to take a large share of the Nepali aluminum market. As an Operations and Supply Chain Intern at KBSAM, I filled the void that the company had in its delivery network and its factories. During my time there, I first spearheaded the company expansion plans, and then went on to streamline the factory production and delivery networks. Since KBSAM was planning to expand the factories to increase production, I led a team to identify the bottleneck machines and calculate the capacities and queues to suggest new machinery via a cost-benefit analysis to optimally equip the expanded factory. Following implementation of the suggested machineries, the profits for KBSAM are expected to increase by 25%.Apart from being an integral part of the expansion team, I also researched the entire supply chain network for the aluminum pipes and organized a meeting with all involved dealers. After recognizing that the biggest problem the dealers faced was tardiness in delivery, I helped in establishing a Microsoft Project and Crystal Ball platform that helps to calculate order time estimations. KBSAM currently uses this platform to optimize its business processes. To further boost the utility of the factory, I coordinated the restructuring of the factory to streamline the manufacturing process and increase efficiencies, increasing daily overall production by 110 pounds. I returned to the company for my junior year internship and traveled to China and Malaysia to develop professional relationships with business partners and conduct factory walk-throughs. Purchased Chinese machinery based on production rates and KBSAM’s current bottlenecks. Post-installation, production and revenue will further grow by 1 ton per month and 20%, respectively.

Marketing InternYamaha Motor Jun 2017 - Aug 2017Kathmandu, NepalYamaha Motorbikes is one of the largest motorbikes company in Nepal. Serving in all of the five federal states of the country, Yamaha has a strong hold on the nationwide market and is the first choice for many customers. During my internship at Yamaha, I worked on improving the company's social media efforts, carried out a CSR campaign and also planned the launch of a new bike in Nepal.Due to the reports that were published about the extremely high pedestrian deaths in the road accidents, Yamaha launched the "Pedestrians First" CSR campaign to ensure the safety of the thousands of pedestrians in the busy streets. I spearheaded the marketing efforts for this campaign. The campaign was rolled out throughout the major cities and was heavily emphasized on social media, increasing the social media traffic towards Yamaha Motorbikes, Nepal by 10%. Shortly after the success of this campaign, I worked on the entire launch of the FZ-25 motorbike. After a lot of market research and data analytics through advanced Excel, our team decided on a campaign that included a nationwide mobile concert with one of the leading bands of the nation, high scale advertisements on Facebook and newspapers, and several other promotional strategies to strengthen Yamaha's position in the Nepali market. I presented these ideas to the executives, to outstanding reception. To further solidify this launch, I also participated in major sponsorship and marketing meetings with celebrities, sportsmen and TV shows. In turn, I was part of the team that closed deals with two TV reality shows with a combined viewership of over 15 million, and with various celebrities.
