Prefab industrialized 3-S System of Construction with Preformed Structural Components:Building components are manufactured in factories on the site under rigid quality control. The constituent components are casted, handled then transported to the sites and erected/joined, jointing details are specific for specific configurations.The total prefab technology is based on factory mass manufactured structural prefabricated components confirming to the BIS standards and the system is an “open” system in the sense that for any planning of the structure satisfying minimal modular constraints.In the system the precast dense hollow concrete elements of appropriate size are used in combination with precast rectangular/’T’ & ‘L’ shape and lightweight reinforced auto-calved cellular concrete (ACC) slabs for floors and roofs. The hollow elements are grouted with an appropriate grade of in-situ concrete (SCC preferred). All the connections and jointing of the various structures are done through in-situ concreting along with secured embedded reinforcement of appropriate sizes, length and configuration to ensure monolithic continuous and highly resilient ductile and durable behavior which is much better than the conventional RCC structures used today.As a project engineer handled and overlooked the operations at the casting yard confirming to the quality and control requirements, the over all factory operations, reviewing the batching plant and reinforcement steel yards and became an integral part of the quality control team which enabled me to learn discreet control methods, tests and error possibilities occurring during casting. I also learnt the intricacies of the machinery involved and efficient resource utilization methods and their optimum utilisation.Overlooked the assembly, erection and the transportation procedures from foundation lining, grouting and final setting of the precast elements into the frame of the structure while overlooking the drawings and compliances.
