I am proud to be part of the CORE Kidney Program, a collaborative effort comprising multiple organizations supporting patients, professionals, and the program itself. I work under Dr. Anjay Rastogi MD, PhD, the Clinical Chief of Nephrology at UCLA.At CORE Kidney, we aim to raise awareness about kidney disease and provide valuable resources for patients, doctors, and the wider community. Through free educational events, we empower individuals with knowledge about manageable lifestyle changes that can enhance their well-being and prevent future health issues. Additionally, our office conducts clinical research trials, in which I work alongside Dr. Rastogi, offering patients the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge studies to improve kidney health.We are committed to empowering patients to become the best advocates for their health.

I spearheaded the revival and rejuvenation of the club following a period of dormancy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I oversaw the club's strategic event planning and robust fundraising activities in collaboration with a dedicated advisor and a high-performing cabinet of 10 individuals.Leading a vibrant community of hundreds of students, we swiftly rebuilt our momentum within a few short months. Despite time constraints, we successfully executed several impactful initiatives, which included a month-long battery drive and an E-waste drive. These programs significantly contributed to environmental conservation efforts by recycling an impressive total of over 5,000 pounds of e-waste and approximately 600 pounds of batteries, both highly toxic forms of waste.As a pivotal component of my role, I also managed the election process, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership for the following semester. My commitment to fostering a healthy democratic process helped guarantee the continuity of the club's operations and its active engagement in the college community.

Participates in direct patient care activities such as taking vitals, administering EKGs, etc. Makes phone calls to other offices and insurance companies, technologically upgrades the office, etc. His most important role in this position is seeing patients alongside the physician, and taking progress notes/updating patient charts for him, significantly easing his workload and hence saving him time and effort. Part of his responsibilities include taking full patient histories, and seeing patients preliminarily before the care provider sees them, so as to make the experience smoother for both the patient and their care provider.

Attended lectures by biomedical scientists and was leader of a fourteen student developmental programming research group mentored by Dr. Mina Desai. Organized meetings and systematized group research, served as liaison between students and mentor, set/enforced progress deadlines, wrote research paper, and presented group findings at culmination ceremony.

Front and back office experience in a 5 provider outpatient Cardiology clinic. Clinical documentation: systematically ensured thousands of pts' medical orders matched up with their progress notes/pts were following up with their care. Resolved most issues I found on my own, called pts or consulted with other staff members to demystify larger issues. Created pt education materials and scheduled appointments and updated pt notes.

Work alongside educators in aiding in tutoring, grading, and advising students of elementary, middle, and high school, among other things. Develop materials to display in front office, such as College average GPA/SAT scores, admissions rates, and extracurricular opportunities. Occasionally lead classes/groups of tutoring students on own while filling in for usual educator. Occasionally sit in meetings with Founder/CEO to aid his professional judgement and advice to other students/parents with my own experiences as a student, and what I have learned. Often aiding Founder/CEO in tasks by "serving as his eyes," due to his visual disability (blindness).

Volunteer work. Worked alongside a diverse team of like-minded students to take a preexisting presentation, and translate said presentation into different languages, as well as produce recordings of the presentation, in order to ensure those belonging to all cultures, and speaking all languages, have equal access to relevant COVID-19 information that will help keep them safe, informed, and help keep them in the loop. More specifically, worked as a Japanese translator, and combined his passion for Japanese language and culture, and for helping others into fueling this initiative.

Volunteer work. Assist with networking, contact potential supporters, and keep up to date with the campaign. Skills expressed include communicative abilities, team-working abilities, logical thinking, and responsibility/organization. Skills learned- adjusting publicity based on one's known political views.

Learned about the field of health sciences, in addition to other leadership, and team working skills. Engrossed himself in research and various health sciences studies. Focused on professional development and other skills.

Paid internship. Assisted employer with clerical tasks, as well as helped him manage his countless commercial, as well as residential properties in Cerritos, Artesia, as well as other cities. This work included completing/serving proper documentation on his behalf as well as with him, analyzing his earnings from each property, and distinguishing those that were missing payments, etc. I assisted with a variety of other tasks, including those revolving around graphical design and communications.

Learned not only some of the back bones of medicine, but also how different doctors managed their careers, from those who ran their own practices, to those who worked at hospitals, to those who did both. Kept a detailed journal of what he learned, experienced, saw, and felt, as well as the questions he had. Assisted certain doctors with basic tasks such as charting, taking notes, and even performing basic patient care under extensive guidance from respective physicians.
