My career journey has been anything but linear, and I’ve come to realize that embracing complex environments is where I thrive. Early on, I was on a fast track to becoming a doctor, driven by the desire for a prestigious and impactful career. I loaded up on top AP classes in high school and entered college as a pre-med student. Yet, I found myself restless. I wanted something more dynamic, where innovation wasn’t just an afterthought, but the goal itself. Medicine, while meaningful, felt too straightforward, and I craved an environment where disruption and rapid evolution were the norm.Looking back, I now realize that my thinking was shaped by a narrow view at the time. You can be a doctor and still work at the cutting edge of technology and innovation. But in making that leap, I recognized that the real drivers of change in any industry are the forces that shape markets and decisions at the macro level. By understanding how industries move, and using data to predict and navigate those shifts, I realized I could leverage that knowledge. Economics and statistics became my foundation.Along the way, I’ve gained experience in a variety of areas, from trading to digital marketing to entrepreneurship to (more recently) artificial intelligence. While some might see these as short stints in seemingly unrelated fields, I view them as intentionally “collecting infinity stones.” Each experience has added a different dimension to my understanding of how to operate in a world that’s continuing to evolve at an accelerated rate.As I’ve grown, I’ve come to believe that the content we consume and the individuals who inspire us play a significant role in shaping our perspectives.
