• Conducted academically significant research under my supervisor. Completed my dissertation on understanding how instructors can implement care in their teaching practices.• Researched and compared the Institutionalization of Engineering Education in New Zealand and South Africa. Read previous articles, managed meetings and interviews with experts in the field, and produced an academic conference paper accepted and presented in the REES 2021 conference.• Collected and analyzed data in a first-year engineering course and a service-learning course to understand the level of alignment between what instructors want students to learn and what students are saying they learned, as well as the alignment between instructors expectations of students in a course and students' experiences in the course. Published and presented these conference papers at FIE conferences in 2021 and 2022.

• Taught lectures in a first-year general engineering course, a service-learning course, an Ideation and Innovation course, and from a course introducing graduate students to multicultural environments.• Collaboratively developed student learning outcomes, lecture slides, in-class activities, means of assessment, and grading rubrics for the Ideation and Innovation course.• Assisted faculty through managing classrooms in-person and on Zoom when required, holding office hours, grading, managing students and attendance for all the courses.• Formed grading rubrics for grading class assignments in all courses.

• Managed this peer-mentoring program for students that focuses on teaching excellence and acts as a resource for graduate students to discuss, ask and answer questions related to teaching and learning.• Worked closely with the Dean of the Graduate school and her secretary to host and plan several activities and events which include obtaining speakers within the organization, the university at large, as well as people from the industry, to talk about issues of interest and relevance to the academy.• Managed the Fellows of the academy who are the graduate students who have more than two semesters of teaching experience at VT, and who are recognized as having outstanding teaching evaluations.• Recruited new Fellows by reviewing their applications, and then chairing an interview process which involves the Dean of the Graduate School, along with the existing Fellows of the academy

• Served as a board member for the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) at Virginia Tech.• Collaborated with other members and gave suggestions as to how this program could be implemented at the university, and what education programs to implement and provide to the graduate students in order to help them develop excellence in the teaching space.
