My professional journey of last 18 years consists of three phases of learnings about enterprises through technology, business, customers and partners; with tech as core. The first phase of 6 years was of learning and practicing the technologies, impacting the enterprises’ interface for customers and end users. Web was transitioning from single page websites to web portals. I worked on the advanced web and portal development technologies with TechM, Wipro, Oracle and IBM.The next phase of 6 years was about learning the legacy business of money and participating in its digital transformation in India. I received first hand experience of offline Banking processes like Branch Operations, Corporate Banking and Loan Recovery. As part of ICICI Bank’s Business Leadership Program, I experienced how technology changed Banking. I managed enterprise OTP system of the Bank, worked on new age ideas of Banking through Social Media (Twitter) and Wearables (iWear). Tried (and failed) to solve problem of ATM Cash replenishment and Audit using a mobile app, only to learn later that most of the cash replenishment agents could not afford a smartphone during that time.The web transitioned from human-machine interfaces to machine-machine interfaces. API became primary vehicle to carry information to customers/users. The mobile payment landscape of India transformed, thanks to Unified Payment Interface (UPI). I played a tiny part in this change by leading the Bank's API Management technology team to launch UPI API in partnership with Google Pay. Later, lead the API security and integration architecture team of Bank to integrate Bank's UPI API with other #bigtechs like Meta (WhatsApp Pay) and Xiaomi (MI Pay).PayTM PayLater and Samsung Pay were notable projects, which widened my perspective of technology's impact on Banking in general and Loan Appraisal process and tokenization, in particular.Since last 6+ years, I have been learning about partners/customers of enterprise software business and understanding the value, enterprise technology brings to them and end users. It has been an exciting and humbling experience. Understanding enterprise software customers with help of data, human relations and end users point of view is a process of many AHA! moments. During this process, I learnt about power of AI, data and visualization along with persistence and patience in maintaining customer and partner relationships. Currently working on scaling business through partners, software pricing, fair market value analysis and account prioritization using Big Query and Vertex AI.
