Software Developer, but only through pure serendipity. "Let Us C" why -Following the craze I had for computers & gaming, and backed by the trends during the mid-2000s - not knowing what exactly was I getting into, I started my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science major in 2006. I never imagined I would become a software engineer until I read the book "Let Us C".  As quoted by Ralph Waldo Emerson - "The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions." - that is what this book did to me. Reading this book sparked a new interest and my liking towards programming. I loved writing my first few programs - from swapping 2 variables to creating my own calculator. It really helped me understand how I can not just be a user of technology but a contributor as well.So 4 years fast-forward - I joined my first company in 2010 as a database developer working on my first project for Microsoft. I worked extensively on Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions for almost 5 years before I decided to take admission in Syracuse University for my Masters in Information Management. During my MS I learned the foundation of Information Systems and their design. Now I understand the nitty-gritties of system design which helps me add value during design discussions. To apply my learnings and gain some practical knowledge, after completing my MS, I decided to move from my Data-only background to a full technology stack. Currently, I am a full stack developer working on multiple applications - some on the latest technology stack, others on old technology stack. I like solving problems and as a technologist, I aspire to keep up with new technologies. I pride myself in shipping bug-free code. I know these could sound few buzzwords - reusability, high throughput, minimum latency, better availability and high scalability, but I try to measure my work using these metrics before I feel comfortable releasing it. Although, I got exposure to multiple technologies, but recent languages/technologies/platforms I worked upon includes - JAVA 8, Angular 7, ArangoDB, MQ, Kafka, and CloudWhen I am not sitting in front of my machine, I am traveling (1 month in Alaska is my favorite so far), developing new healthy habits (can do 5 mins headstand now, working on Handstand these days), learning Spanish from last 3 year on Duolingo and sometimes binge-watching on Netflix.Interested in connecting and/or talking further?
