Vehicle Development Engineer
Traction Inverter + Charging module development and validation Define Core Functional Objective (CFO) for traction inverter for BEV (400V), MHEV (48V) and PHEV & review with supplier for feasibility of functions specified in CFO document. Prepare, Maintain and Update Napkin Schematics for PEB (traction inverter + charging module) using Visio. Develop and perform test procedures for Diagnostics Troubleshooting for bench level as well as vehicle level using essential measurement tools ( DMM, Oscilloscope, Vector CAN, CANalyzer etc ). Develop and maintain specialized techniques for High Voltage system validation. Also responsible for preparing specialized low voltage and high voltage harness required for bench test setup, DV and PV testing. Perform incoming part inspection of Traction Inverter modules for isolation test, switching frequency, I/O functionality, E-stop validation and current measurements. Perform validation of component in compliance with FCA specification and report and/or request modification in hardware and/or software if functions are deviating from system requirements. Perform Failure Analysis and find Root Cause in order to direct interim or permanent corrective action to mitigate such failures, impose lesson learned from the past to make system more efficient. Review DFMEA, Rolling top 10 failure modes, circuit schematics with supplier and if required challenge their approach mainly in case of HVDC bus discharge circuitry and optimization. Participate in cost reduction ideas without impacting vehicle performance. Perform software updates / flash updates of modules using ETAS INCA & CDA. Also collect vehicle electrified powertrain (ePT) and other internal CAN bus data for review and analysis of functionality.

Analyze CAN, LIN, Ethernet and LVDS (HUD & Night vision camera) requirements and prepare schematics of transceiver to ensure functionality within the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC-Infotainment). Analyze High Speed-Memory Block specifications and functionality requirements (HyperFlash, Serial Flash, eMMC NAND etc) and provide internal register configuration as well as external circuitry to ensure signal integrity results accordingly. (from HW POV). Maintain necessary documents. Prepare EMC test plan as per product specification & validate EMC tests with suitable simulator if applicable (CANoe, Broad-R link etc) for the same. Maintain DFMEA report, BOM, design documents, schematics and study documents.

Implementation of safety best practices. (vibration and electrical over stress test). Design and Physical validation of hardware and software used in battery management system (BMS). Experience with lab set up for time domain testing of Li-Ion battery modules using Matlab –Dpsace (HIL). Battery Management System- passive cell balancing algorithm development using matlab-dSPACE and integrating it for physical system using Arduino and transistorized circuit. Development of battery test plan and design of experiments for battery lab.
