My main responsibility was to facilitate weekly tutoring sessions for Organic Chemistry I and II students to review problems sets, practice exams, and textbook questions. I related the conceptual topics learned in class to students' laboratory questions. My main responsibilities included supervising students in lab, grading pre-lab worksheets, and grading hazardous analyses. In Organic Lab, I assisted students in performing and interpreting experimental results obtained from NMR, GCMS, and IR analyses. For these courses, I maintained the chemical stock, set up apparatuses for lab, and managed chemical disposal. This role allowed me to introduce students to their first Organic Chemistry lab setting and instruct them on the fundamentals of advanced laboratory technique and safety.

I worked on experimenting with Azirine Reduction and Ligand Synthesis. I attempted to emulate then alter two existing mechanisms in the literature for azirine reduction of a chiral catalyst molecule. I construct my own experiments, including background research of multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers. In lab, I set up, conduct, and disassemble my experiments. Additionally, full analysis of each product is performed, including NMR, GCMS, melting point, and IR. Further, I maintain stock of my lab's consumables.
