• Designed, analyzed built and currently testing a tilt rotor mechanism for VTOL hybrid flight on a fixed-wing VTOL drone using off the shelf components. Working to get wind tunnel test data to develop a model that can give coefficients of lift and drag as functions of system parameters (motor speed, tilt angle and wind velocity)• Research in characterizing the flight profile of an aircraft and performing FEA and hand-calc structural analysis. Simplified the flight forces and imported them into a model that preserves accuracy while reducing complexity. Evaluated different meshing/paneling methods and ensured sim convergence, verified results with hand-calcs

• Founded helmlearning.com, a peer-peer learning platform offering free online enrichment classes to young kids• Started the initiative, recruited over 35+ teachers and marketed the program to 2000 total sign-ups• Built an automation system to manage class sign-ups and auto-recommend classes to users.• Work included an SQL database to store user data, a front-end webpage using HTML/CSS and JavaScript, an algorithm to recommend classes, and a python code hosted on an EC2 server to process signups

Seeing for the Blind LLC (www.seeingfortheblind.com) creates products to help visually impaired people navigate. The flagship product is a pair of glasses that uses echo-location and machine learning to tell users the identity of objects in front them and where objects are around them.• Built many prototypes of the product with different types of sensors, different designs for the hardware. The current version of the product that is being produced is on a pair of glasses that can be worn by the user.• My product uses Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ultrasound sensors, a camera and a battery. I designed the wiring, soldered the appropriate parts, and packaged it into a wearable device.• Wrote code in C and Python, and used appropriate libraries to perform the echolocation and object identification functions• Tested and piloted my product with many blind users in India and US• Won $11,000 at a business competition (Diamond Challenge) to fund my company• Partnership with Vision-Aid (http://www.visionaid.org/), a non-profit to assemble anddistribute my product in India• Applied for a patent for my device

• Started with 1 class in 2017 and has since grown to a program of over 12 different classes. 200 students have graduated from these classes in the past two and a half years• Students trained in this program have won awards in regional and national competitions, including all three grand prize awards at the National Invention Convention.• Setup the program to be self-sustaining by creating a pipeline of teachers that are former students of the program who then teach future courses. This has allowed the program to grow and run even after I leave for college.
