I founded Medblocks after having firsthand experience in the inefficiencies plaguing traditional healthcare IT. Medblocks was born out of a vision to transform patient care through innovation.During my medical training, I observed the excessive time my colleagues spent on tedious documentation tasks, detracting from patient care. Leveraging my programming skills, I developed scripts to automate repetitive tasks but faced significant barriers when attempting to integrate these solutions with existing hospital systems. The reluctance of EMR software vendors to support workflow enhancements highlighted a widespread issue: the healthcare IT infrastructure was fundamentally resistant to innovation, locking data into proprietary systems and stifling advancements.This realization led me to explore the potential of Health Data Platforms, an approach that champions the separation of applications from data. Discovering a community of standards bodies like openEHR and FHIR, I was introduced to the concept of a vendor-neutral database capable of storing clinical data in a standardized format, with APIs that allow for the development of flexible and interoperable applications.Medblocks is dedicated to making this innovative approach accessible to all. We provide a suite of tools and services designed to empower healthcare professionals and developers to build sophisticated clinical applications on top of Health Data Platforms.
