I work in the rainforest area in Biosphere 2 helping to conduct research with a particular emphasis on the Cacao plants and the manner in which they absorb CO2 and the flow rate of their sap. I'm also helping to create circuits by soldering that will fulfil different technological purposes throughout the rainforest biome.

This internship one of several created as part of the IESTE program, which stand for the Internship & Certificate Program for Solar Technicians and Engineers. This program was created through the collaboration of the University of Arizona and the Pima Community College as a means of educating underrepresented groups in solar technology and promote emerging career opportunities. It is affiliated with both the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the MSI STEM Research & Development Consortium. As an intern at NerdPower, I created 3D models of residential buildings and designed photovoltaic systems including the necessary electrical components involved by using the solar design software called Aurora. I also calculated solar system sizes for clients. Additionally, I worked to compile information on different areas throughout the US (Arizona, California, Ohio, and Texas in particular) on regional requirements that need to be met for a client to get a solar system. I compiled information on different cities, counties, and townships in these regions relating to zoning regulations, inspection scheduling information, the process needed to attain a building permit, and any other information relevant information. I also participated in Aurora and AutoCAD shadow sessions in which I learned much about these programs, including how AutoCAD can be used to create a site plan. I also learned about the contents of a site plan, how to create one for a client, how a single-line diagram (SLD) works, and the overall purpose of a site plan.

Assisted in gathering data for ongoing scientific projects relating to environment conservation which included identifying locations on the Mcdowell Sonoran Preserve that were ideal for placing cameras to observe wildlife as well as using a tracking Sonoran Tortoises whose movement patterns were being analyzed by using a telemetry device and assisting in gathering data safely and procedurally by removing and replacing old gps units on these tortoises so their movements could be studied. Also aided educational team in facilitating educational programs for third and fourth grade students teaching about environmental conservation and utilized prior knowledge and experience in adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator to help in creating further additional environmentally educational activities aimed at elementary school children. Furthermore, previously developed tactile skills including sewing and crafting techniques were implemented to aid educational team in creating other learning tools for elementary school children to help educate about environmental sustenance.Designed and presented a research project proposal to higherups on identifying leading causes of saguaro mortality in the area.

Communicated with customers constructively to provided exceptional service, utilized conversational techniques to increase sales, managed monetary transactions at register, worked alongside coworkers effectively, and regularly cleaned location's equipment and furniture to help facilitate a more safe and welcoming work environment

Worked predominantly on the floor as well as in the fitting rooms. Helped customers by answering questions, helping them into fitting rooms, and cleaning up around store where needed. Also organized and arranged merchandise on floor.
