As I embark on my degree in Commerce my intention is to major in Management and minor in Business Law to enable me to become very knowledgeable in my career. Throughout my degree I will take the relative courses required for both my Major and Minor, but I also plan to include other courses that will enable me to develop my talent to become a stronger candidate as I move towards my career. As part of my development and growth I plan to volunteer and participate in several opportunities through the Bachelor of Commerce research program, as I believe this will provide me with a great tool kit to become more prepared for my sought after career. It will allow me to build connections through various channels and allow me to build a strong network for future endeavors. My desire is to work for a management consultant firm, understanding that there will be many roles that I would eligible to apply for. As I am an independent, hardworking and passionate individual, I believe this will allow me to work my way up to more senior roles within that company. One of the many things I am proud of through my education has been my ability to be an effective communicator. I developed many of these skills from active participation in debates, which allowed me to present ideas in a form where I had to be quick in thinking to provide a challenging and effective response, and ensuring that I could capture the audience to believe in what I was presenting. This truly is a skill I believe will be beneficial in the behaviors necessary for my career.
